GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Mohabir Anil Nandlall, SC, says Guyana is experiencing an era of rapid and unprecedented national renewal — one that is reshaping the country’s economy, infrastructure, and global image, according to the Department of Public Informatio, the communication arm of the Government.
DPI, reporting on Nandlall’s recent appearance on the “Starting Point” podcast, said the Attorney General reflected on the sweeping transformation taking place under the current administration, calling it “the most significant in Guyana’s modern history.”
He said the scope of development now unfolding is unlike anything seen before, as new investments, major infrastructure projects, and social reforms converge to create opportunities across every region.
“For decades, many Guyanese thought success meant leaving home,” Nandlall observed. “Now, people are returning — they see the progress, the vision, and the tangible changes that are improving lives.”
The Attorney General, according to DPI, pointed to key national projects such as the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge, the expansion of international hotel chains like Marriott, Hilton, and Holiday Inn, and the long-awaited law school initiative — long considered a missing piece in the country’s legal education landscape.
“These developments show that what was once seen as impossible is now becoming our everyday reality,” DPI quoted Nandlall as saying.
According to Nandlall, the transformation extends beyond physical infrastructure. It is also reshaping how Guyanese view their country — instilling confidence in its future and pride in its achievements.
“Guyana has moved from being overlooked to being one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world,” he said. “This is the story of a nation finally realizing its full potential.”
