Guyanese Woman, Two Others Held in Trinidad over Body Found Wrapped in Plastic

October 13, 2025

Three people—a Guyanese woman, a Venezuelan man and a Trinidadian man—remained in custody last night after they were detained last week at a Charlieville apartment building in connection with the disappearance of Cunupia businessman Imraz “Clubs” Ali.

Ali, 60, was found dead and wrapped in plastic secured with duct tape about 100 feet down a precipice off the North Coast Road, not far from the Pillars before Maracas on Saturday.

Investigators believe he had been murdered and his body thrown down the precipice not long after he went missing more than a month ago,

The three people held were detained during a police operation on October 7.

The officers received information which led them to the apartment complex at Ramadhar Drive, Charlieville, which police believe Ali previously owned.

Upon arrival, police went to an apartment on the ground floor, which they had been told was being used as a meeting point for people who were suspected of having knowledge about Ali’s disappearance.

Upon arrival, the woman attempted to flee but was intercepted by officers.

She and the two men were questioned, and on Saturday, officers were led to a cliff off the North Coast Road, where Ali’s body was found.

Police also told the Express they were searching for two other men who are believed to have been involved in his death.

Ali had been missing since September 4 when he was last seen leaving his Ajodha Road home around 3 p.m. to conduct a transaction

He visited a mechanic’s shop in Freeport for a suspension check on his Toyota Crown vehicle and was later dropped off in Bamboo by a business associate, police said.

Relatives raised the alarm after he failed to return home, and attempts to reach him by cellphone were unsuccessful.

His car was later recovered. No ransom demands were reported.

Ali previously owned a bar on Rodney Road, Chaguanas, and was involved in buying and reselling vehicles.

Friends and family described him as hard-working, generous, and with no known enemies.

A $100,000 reward was offered by Crime Stoppers last Thursday to anyone who could provide information to find Ali.
