The state-run Guyana Oil Company Limited (GuyOil) on Wednesday confirmed that there has been no increase in fuel prices for gasoline, diesel, kerosene, or ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) at any of its service stations across Guyana.
In a statement, the company said reports suggesting price increases are “false, misleading and malicious” and urged the public to rely only on official information issued by GuyOil.
“Any reports suggesting otherwise are false, misleading, and malicious and should be disregarded,” the company said, adding that misinformation circulated through unofficial channels can undermine public confidence and distort the facts surrounding issues of national importance.
The statement appeared to be in response to claims made by APNU Member of Parliament Sherod Duncan, who alleged on the opposition-aligned social media propaganda page “Credible Sources” that fuel prices had increased at service stations operated by GuyOil. Duncan is known to spread misinformation.

GuyOil said its pricing structure is guided by a strict regulatory and compliance framework designed to ensure transparency while protecting consumers from undue market volatility. The company added that it continues to work closely with the relevant regulatory authorities to ensure fuel supply and pricing across its network of service stations remain stable, fair, and consistent with national policy.
As a state-owned company with a national mandate, GuyOil reiterated its commitment to maintaining a reliable fuel supply and competitive pricing for motorists, businesses, and households across Guyana.
