LINDEN, Guyana — Police have arrested a 30-year-old Linden businessman after officers discovered two pistols, dozens of rounds of ammunition and a large quantity of cash during an operation at his Redwood Crescent residence on Wednesday, the Guyana Police Force said.
According to investigators, ranks carried out a search at the home in Mackenzie, Linden, and during a sweep of the upper flat found a Glock 19 9mm pistol, a Polymer80 9mm pistol, six magazines and fifty-six 9mm rounds hidden beneath the bedroom flooring.
Police said additional searches of the room uncovered GYD $6.9 million and USD $7,445 stashed inside a wardrobe.
The businessman was taken into custody, and the weapons, ammunition and money were seized as part of the ongoing investigation. The Guyana Police Force said inquiries continue.
