November 22, 2025

MAHAICONY, Guyana — Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 52-year-old man who was found with suspected gunshot wounds late Friday night at his Quakers Hall home.

The victim, Sesupaul Ramgobin, also called “John Paul,” was discovered around 11 p.m. after relatives reported hearing what they believed was an explosion, Regional Division Five police said.

When family members checked, Ramgobin was found lying motionless on the steps of his home. Responding ranks observed an injury to the back of his head and additional wounds to the upper body, all suspected to be gunshot-related. No spent shells were recovered at the scene, police noted.

Ramgobin was transported to the Mahaicony Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. His body was later taken to Bailey’s Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination.

No arrests have been made, and investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the killing.
