Police Investigate Discovery of Body in Parked Vehicle at Mon Repos

GEORGETOWN, Guyana — The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into the death of a 34-year-old man whose body was discovered in a parked vehicle at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, on Friday afternoon.

Police said the body of Imran Khan, of Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, was found around 4:15 p.m. inside a black Nissan Bluebird, registration number PWW 946, on First Street, Mon Repos South.

According to police, a team led by a Gazetted Officer visited the scene and observed the vehicle parked along the southern parapet of the roadway. Khan’s body was seated in the front passenger seat with his head leaning toward the driver’s side. No visible marks of violence were found.

Detectives processed the scene and recovered several personal items from the vehicle. The car has been impounded for further examination, police said. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and have interviewed several persons as part of the ongoing probe.

A doctor who examined the body confirmed Khan’s death. The remains were later taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where they are being held pending a post-mortem examination.

Police said investigations are continuing.
