Suspect Arrested Nearly One Month After Hit-and-Run That Killed Enmore Man

November 25, 2025

ENMORE, East Coast Demerara β€” Police have arrested 55-year-old Ganesh Racktoo, nearly a month after he was wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of Charran Suresh on October 25, 2025.

Racktoo, of Lot 365 Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was taken into custody on November 24, 2025. Investigators had previously issued a wanted bulletin for him for causing death by dangerous driving following the collision along Enmore Access Road.

Police said Suresh, 43, of Newtown, Enmore, was standing on the eastern side of the roadway around 5:50 p.m. when he was struck by a minibus that was proceeding north. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene.

Emergency Medical Technicians found Suresh unconscious and transported him to the Enmore Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he succumbed to his injuries.

After weeks of enquiries, police located Racktoo and arrested him on Monday. A statement from the Corporate Communications Unit said he is now in custody as investigators prepare charges.

The Guyana Police Force said the investigation remains active.
