Teen Motorcyclist, Pillion Rider Killed in Linden Accident

November 4, 2025

GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Two young men died Monday night after a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Proctor Road and Kara Kara Public Road in Linden, police said.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. and involved motorcycle CP 6912 and motor car PAE 7246, which was being driven by a 45-year-old excavator operator from Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, according to a Guyana Police Force report.

Police identified the victims as Latrel Whinfield, 19, an operator from Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden, and pillion rider Isaiah Richards, whose age and address were not immediately known. Whinfield was the rider of the motorcycle.

Investigators said the motorcycle was heading east along Kara Kara Public Road at a fast rate when it collided with the right side of the car, which was turning north onto Proctor Road. The impact threw both men onto the roadway, police said, and they sustained severe injuries.

They were taken unconscious to the Linden Hospital Complex, where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Their bodies were transported to the Gjetsco Funeral Home Mortuary pending autopsies.

Both the car and motorcycle are being held at the Mackenzie Police Station for examination, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The car’s driver remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
