GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Two men have been charged with the murder of 24-year-old Faynell Brewster, who was killed during a robbery earlier this month.
Akande Ross, 25, a machine operator of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, and Shaquille Wilburg, 29, of Public Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, were arrested on October 20 and appeared Friday before Principal Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court #2.
The pair was charged with murder in the furtherance of a robbery and were not required to enter pleas. Both were remanded to prison pending the continuation of the case.
Separately, Ross and a woman, 25-year-old Atelly Gonsalves of Morocut Square, East La Penitence, were also charged with unlawful possession of ammunition without a license.
Gonsalves pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $300,000, while Ross was remanded to prison on that charge as well.
Both matters were adjourned until November 18, 2025.
