Georgetown, Guyana — Annie Khemraj, the Lusignan woman who publicly accused Minister of Public Utilities Deodat Indar of involvement in the recent Regent Street gas station bombing, has been arrested and remains in police custody on cybercrime allegations, a senior police source confirmed.
Khemraj, 43, of Lot 7 Richard’s Town, Lusignan, is described by sources as a paid activist of Azzrudin Mohamed’s We Invest Nationhood (WIN) party. Mohamed himself is currently facing criminal charges and possible extradition to the United States on state-level offenses.
Minister Indar reported the matter to the Cyber Crime Division after viewing a Facebook video in which Khemraj linked him to terrorism, murder, and the bombing incident—allegations he called “dangerous, fabricated, and criminal.”
Following the report, police detained Khemraj last evening. She is expected to be charged soon as investigators continue to examine her online activity and the motivations behind the circulation of the video.
Authorities have not released further details, but the investigation is ongoing.
