GEORGETOWN, Guyana — The Honorary Consulate of Grenada in Guyana has congratulated Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their election victory, describing the renewed mandate as a strong endorsement of his leadership and government’s development agenda.

In a congratulatory message, the consulate welcomed Mitchell’s second term in office, saying the election result reflected the confidence of Grenadians in his vision for the country’s continued progress.

“This resounding mandate is a clear endorsement of the leadership, vision, and progressive development agenda of Prime Minister Mitchell and his Government,” the consulate said.

The diplomatic office also commended the people of Grenada for their commitment to democracy, national development and the strengthening of democratic institutions.

The consulate used the occasion to reaffirm the longstanding relationship between Guyana and Grenada, highlighting the importance of closer bilateral cooperation and regional solidarity.

“Grenada and Guyana share longstanding bonds of friendship, cooperation, and Caribbean solidarity,” the statement said.

It expressed optimism that the renewed mandate would create further opportunities to deepen relations between the two Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states, particularly in advancing regional integration, economic growth and shared prosperity.

The consulate also emphasised the importance of continued collaboration in addressing common regional priorities and strengthening the bonds between the peoples of both countries.

“We look forward to deepening our bilateral relations and advancing our shared commitment to regional integration, economic growth, and prosperity for our peoples,” the statement added.

In extending its best wishes, the consulate expressed hope that Mitchell’s second term would bring continued progress, stability and development to Grenada.

“We wish Prime Minister Mitchell and his Government continued success in their second term, and for Grenada to advance in unity, peace, and prosperity,” the statement concluded.
